Description

Circa 1870. Large asymmetrical villa with Gothic details. 2

storeys with attics, and built on slope, with basement to

garden (W). Stugged red ashlar with polished dressings; some

openings segmental-arched, some mullioned, some with

hood-moulds. 3 unequal gables to street (E), that to right

taller and advanced with low addition adjoining. Door in

left gable with 2-centred-arched head and hood-mould.

Garden elevation 3 bays with tall gable left, inner bay

canted at ground, corbelled to square above, 3-light 1st

floor window with decorative timber pediment over. Flight of

decorative cast-iron steps to right leading to ground floor

window. Skews; stacks, mostly with paired circular flues;

slated roofs.

Ashlar-coped rubble-built garden walls; square gatepiers

with shaped caps.
