The Moss, 30 Dalziel Drive, 28, Glasgow

The Moss is a two-storey, three-bay villa built in 1891 or 1892, possibly designed by John Gordon and/or Thomas Baird. The villa features Renaissance details, with shallow canted outer bays connected by a balustraded Ionic porch. The canted bays have pilasters at the ground level, and all first-floor windows are adorned with Ionic half-pilasters that are overlapped by architraves. The exterior is made of polished yellow ashlar with sculptured detailing, topped by a slate roof with finials. The villa has sash windows that include leaded upper panels, a main cornice, and corniced end stacks. To the right, there is a single-storey wing that contains offices, a low square porch, and a pedimented screen leading to the rear courtyard. The property is enclosed by an ashlar boundary wall and features two pairs of square gatepiers.
