Description

Oak Knowe is a three-storey Scots baronial villa designed by W F MacGibbon and built around 1886. The building features an asymmetrical front with two windows, a crow-stepped gable on the left, and a two-storey splayed bay on the right, where the top windows extend onto the roof. There is a bartizan with a conical slate roof at the right-hand corner. The first floor has three and four-light windows with stone mullions and transoms, while the ground floor includes French windows to the bay. The main entrance is accentuated by miniature turrets on the right-hand side. Additionally, there are original circular gatepiers at the left-hand driveway.
