Description

Steilston House is a 2-storey Scots Baronial villa, dated 1867. It is constructed of yellow brick with contrasting red ashlar dressings. The south elevation features an arched doorway located in a finialed conical-roofed off-centre circular turret, and a pedimented narrow bay that connects to an advanced left gable. To the right, there is a first-floor window with a gabled dormer head. The windows are mostly mullioned and/or transomed, and there is a stepped string course at the upper floor. The house has crow-stepped gables, corniced stacks, and slate roofs, which include four solar panels. There is an altered low wing to the west.
