Description
Rue is a farmhouse and steading, likely built around 1830. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with a tall barn to the west. The building is constructed from rubble, featuring ashlar dressings, with the house displaying red ashlar dressings while the rest is whitewashed. The roofs are covered with graded slates.
The house has a narrow central door on the south elevation, which is topped with a bracketed hood. It includes small-paned sash windows and coped stacks, along with a full-height rear wing.
The barn is two storeys high and consists of eight bays. It has a cartshed at the south end, with an off-centre door flanked by tall slits, and a square loft door above. There are narrow loft openings, and a low door on the south gable provides access to the former mill gearing area.
