Hazliebrae, 38A Dalziel Drive, 38, Glasgow

Hazliebrae is a 2-storey Scots baronial villa designed by W F MacGibbon and dated 1886. The building features an asymmetrical front with a 3-storey tower on the right, topped by a conical slate roof. Triangular pediments adorn the dormers, while the centre and left-hand sides display crow-stepped gables. There is strapwork cresting and a crown above the centre first-floor window, along with distinctive dormer treatment on the left. A carved block with a monogram is positioned at the eaves level, and the windows have roll-mouldings, paired with transoms and mullions on the tower and the ground floor to the left. An attached glazed conservatory is located on the right, and there is a set-back block on the left with an entrance beneath a crow-stepped lean-to. The original circular gatepiers are situated at the left-hand driveway.
