Description
Dunstaffnage is a large villa located at 11 Newlands Road in Glasgow, likely designed by Thomas Baird in the late 19th century. The villa is constructed of red rock-faced ashlar and features a piended slated roof with a balustraded platform. It has two storeys and an asymmetrical three-bay south front, which includes outer canted windows and ground floor windows that are both mullioned and transomed. There is an open porch that is recessed to the right, and the windows are fitted with plate glass sashes. The villa has deep eaves and chimney stacks.
Attached to the villa is a conservatory that is symmetrical, with a tall central section that has a canted front and low side aisles.
The property is enclosed by a stepped perimeter wall, also made of rock-faced ashlar, which surrounds a large garden. At the southeast corner of the property, there are circular gatepiers topped with conical caps, which are set within crenellated caps, along with decorative wrought-iron gates.
