15 Main Street, East Wemyss

15 Main Street in East Wemyss is a late 18th century, two-storey and attic house with a rectangular plan, forming part of an irregular terrace to the east. The exterior is finished in painted rubble with stone cills and projecting long and short work quoins, while the sides are harled and the rear is unpainted rubble.

The principal elevation faces south and is symmetrical, featuring a panelled timber door with a two-part fanlight at the center. There are windows in the flanking bays and regular fenestration close to the eaves on the first floor.

The north elevation has its ground floor obscured by a boundary wall, but there are three windows on the first floor. The west elevation includes a window to the right of center on the first floor and an attic window in the center of the gable head.

The first-floor windows on the north and west elevations have 4- and 12-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case frames, while modern plate glass is used elsewhere. The roof is covered with modern concrete tiles, and there are coped and rendered stacks with some cans and thackstanes, as well as ashlar-coped skews and ropework moulded scroll skewputts.

The interior was not seen in 1998. The property is enclosed by rubble boundary walls.
