102 Victoria Street, Stromness

102 Victoria Street in Stromness is a late 18th century house that has undergone some alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay rectangular building with a plain symmetrical design. The exterior is made of pointed roughly coursed rubble with cement margins around the openings.

The principal elevation faces west and features a deep-set, part-glazed modern timber panelled door with a letterbox fanlight located in the central bay at ground level, with a window above it on the first floor. Each of the three bays has a window on both floors, and there are three evenly spaced rooflights above.

The windows are replacement 12-pane timber sash and case types. The roof is covered with modern asbestos tiles and has a stone ridge, with harled, corniced gablehead stacks on the north and south sides. The property also has uPVC rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1997.

Surrounding the property are boundary walls that are low, cement-rendered, and lined, with ashlar copes along the road to the west. There are square-pan coped gatepiers at the center and at each end, along with fleur-de-lys-headed cast-iron railings.
