Description

Seafield is an early 19th century house with later alterations, featuring a two-storey and attic rectangular plan. The building has a two-bay gabled elevation facing Victoria Street to the west and a four-bay entrance elevation on the north side. At the rear, there is a single-storey gig house built at a lower level. The exterior is finished with harl-pointed rubble, and the ground floor on the west side is cement-rendered and lined. A cornice runs along the ground floor on the west elevation, and there are plain concrete margins around the windows, with a chamfered angle at the southwest corner. A modern timber-framed conservatory has been added to the rear.

The north elevation is irregular with four bays. It features a pilastered and corniced doorpiece located to the left of center, with a window above on the first floor. There is a window in the outer left bay and another in the center bay at ground level, along with a window in the outer right bay on both floors.

The west elevation has two bays, with a large window on the left at ground level, a window on the first floor, and an attic window above. There is also a window on the first floor to the right, and a gablehead stack above.

The windows are a mix of 12 and 4-pane timber sash and case styles, with a fixed timber-framed window at ground level on the west side. The roof is modern grey slate with a stone ridge, concrete skews, and multi-flue rubble and harled gablehead stacks, along with thackstanes and uPVC rainwater goods.

The interior was noted to be good in 1971, but it was not seen in 1997.

The gig house and quay consist of a rubble path leading to a single-storey, five-bay lean-to gig house that projects east from the rear of the main house. This structure is made of harl-pointed rubble with a corrugated-iron roof, concrete skews and ridge, and uPVC rainwater goods. It features two boarded doors with small windows in each alternate bay on the north side. There are also rubble walls surrounding a small rectangular quay to the east.
