Description

Earlier to mid 19th century with later alterations and additions. 2-storey (single storey, basement and attic at rear), and attic 4-bay (5-bay at ground), rectangular-plan house, subdivided internally, converted at ground to shops built on ground rising to W; oriel window to NE; stop-chamfered NW angle; arcaded timber porch to rear entrance. Cement-rendered and lined, painted at ground to E. Cement-rendered and lined margins to openings to S.

E (VICTORIA STREET) ELEVATION: bays divided 1-3 with lower single bay block to left. 3-bay group to right: window at ground in bay to centre; non-aligned window at 1st floor above. Deep-set modern part-glazed door with picture window flanking at ground in bay to left; window at 1st floor above. Window at ground in bay to right; non-aligned window at 1st floor above. Window at ground in bay to outer right; 4-light oriel window at 1st floor above. Deep-set modern part-glazed door at ground in single bay block to outer left with picture window flanking to right; non-aligned window at 1st floor above.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: lean-to addition forming cat slide roof spanning elevation to left; rectangular-plan arcaded timber-framed porch at ground in bay to centre; stone steps to part-glazed boarded door; window in each bay flanking, with box dormer above. Timber-framed lean-to shed to outer left

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: window at each floor, slightly offset to right of centre; multi-flue gablehead stack above.

Predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Modern asbestos roof; stone ridge; cement-rendered and lined corniced gablehead stacks, replaced to N; cement skews; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1997.
