79 Victoria Street, Stromness

79 Victoria Street in Stromness is a house built in the earlier to mid-19th century, with some later alterations. It is a two-storey building, although it appears as a single storey on the west side, and is situated on a steeply rising ground. The exterior features harl-pointed, roughly coursed rubble with rubble quoins.

On the north elevation, there is a square-plan flat-roofed addition that includes a boarded door at the center on the ground floor. To the left, there is another boarded door on the ground floor, with a window above it on the first floor. The right bay has a window on each floor.

The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a modern timber door positioned to the left of the gabled section, with a gablehead stack above it.

The south elevation is blank. The windows throughout the building are 2- and 4-pane timber sash and case styles. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring a Caithness slate easing course, a stone ridge, and a corniced rubble gablehead stack. The property also has uPVC rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1997.
