24 West Brae, East Wemyss

24 West Brae is a house built in the late 18th to early 19th century. It is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring a rectangular plan and three bays. The entrance has a pilastered, corniced doorpiece with a block pediment. The exterior is made of coursed, squared rubble with contrasting raised quoins and margins, while the rear has a dry-dash finish. It includes base and eaves courses.

The southeast elevation is symmetrical, with a two-leaf door at the center that has a decorative fanlight above it. There are windows in the flanking bays and regular fenestration on the first floor. Small piended dormer windows are located over the outer bays, and there is a modern rooflight in the center.

The southwest elevation features a gabled design with a window at the center on the ground floor and another window slightly off-center to the right on the first floor. The building has small-pane non-traditional double glazing and broad, coped ashlar gablehead stacks with some chimney cans and ashlar-coped skews.

Inside, there are some decorative cornices and a black marble fireplace that has been painted.

The boundary walls and gatepiers consist of coped rubble and harl, with pyramidally-coped, square-section rubble gatepiers.
