Description
Glenlochar House is a house from the late 18th or early 19th century. It has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, featuring a symmetrical three-bay frontage. The exterior is made of painted rubble with polished raised angles and window margins. There are steps leading to a projecting porch with a cornice, which is supported by brackets. The door and porch windows also have a cornice, and the steps are adorned with a simple cast-iron baluster.
All the windows are single light with 12-pane sashes, except for the basement windows, which are made of aluminium plate glass and do not match the character of the house. The flanks of the building are harled, while the rear elevation includes a full-height projecting centre bay that contains the stair, with smaller lean-to additions on the right side. The roof is covered with slate and features corniced axial stacks and skews.
The property is accessed through four tall coped granite gatepiers that support simple cast-iron gates.
