Description
The stable block at Danevale Park, built around 1850, features a symmetrical design with four one or two-storey ranges surrounding a cobbled courtyard. It is constructed from rubble with red sandstone dressings and rusticated quoins.
The south elevation has nine bays, with outer pavilions that project forward and include basket-arch cart entrances with rusticated voussoirs. The central bay provides access to the courtyard through a basket-arch pend, above which is a tower containing a dovecot. The low wings on either side have arched or square-headed niches and an embattled parapet, although the parapet on the right has been removed. Most openings in the internal-facing northern and eastern wings have been altered around 1950, featuring box dormers.
The roofs are primarily slate, except for the west pavilion, which has a corrugated iron roof.
