Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey and basement, rectangular plan, classical farmhouse with lower gabled projection at rear. Cream and grey sandstone rubble to sides and rear, ashlar to main elevation; raised quoins, base and eaves course.

S elevation: 3-bay with cornice and blocking course; pedimented centre bay advanced with curved flight of steps to doorway with architraves cornice; panelled 2-leaf door and decorative fanlight; wrough-iron railings. Window to each floor in outer bays and above door at centre.

N elevation: gabled projection off-centre to right, with door to basement and regular windows above and on return elevations.

E elevation: window to principal floor and smaller 1st floor window; lean-to porch to basement.

W elevation: door and window at ground; window at centre to principal and 1st floors. Interior: winding stair; depressed-arch to hall. 12-pane glazing pattern to sash and case windows. Grey slates to piend roof; ashlar coping to gabled projection at rear.

Gatepiers: decorative cast-iron gateposts with finials.
