Description

Ormiston Hall Lodge is a two-storey gabled lodge built around 1840, designed in the style of William Burn. The building features pink sandstone rubble that is stugged on the main elevations, with droved ashlar dressings and polished borders, as well as stone mullions and chamfered arrises.

On the west elevation, there is a gabled bay to the right that has a modern window at ground level, an altered first-floor window, and a later attic window. The centre and right sections have single-storey bays under swept eaves, with a doorway at the centre that breaks the eaves in a steeply gabled bay.

The east elevation has a slightly advanced gabled bay to the left, featuring a tripartite window at ground level and a bipartite window on the first floor. The eaves sweep down to the centre and left over single-storey bays. There is a back door at the centre flanked by a narrow window, and a door leading to an outbuilding at the outer right.

The north elevation has a gabled design with a centre panel that is advanced, and the eaves sweep down over single-storey recessed flanks. It features a tripartite window at ground level and a bipartite window on the first floor.

The south elevation includes a single-storey pentice-roofed original projection at ground level. The glazing patterns consist of small-pane and plate glass, with some modern elements.
