Description

Later 19th century. Single storey, 2-bay near square-plan gabled lodge. Grey sandstone with cream ashlar dressings. Base course; ashlar quoins; long and short window surrounds; timber bracketed eaves and bargeboarding; finials to gable apexes.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to near central advanced gabled entrance; timber door. Gabled 3-light window to left with bracketed pentice porch; blank square plaque to gablehead.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: near central gabled bay; 3-light window with bracketed pentice porch; blank square plaque to gablehead.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: gabled bay to right; small flat-roofed addition to left.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: gabled bay near-centre with 2-light window with bracketed pentice porch; blank square plaque to gablehead.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows, except to S. Grey slate roof; corniced ridge and wallhead stacks; polygonal cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1999.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND GATES: low coped boundary walls; pyramidal gatepiers; painted timber gate.
