Description

Tighmonadh, located on Connaught Terrace in Crieff, is a lodge built in the later part of the 19th century. It is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring three bays and a gabled design. The exterior is made of squared and snecked rubble, accented with contrasting dressed ashlar quoins and droved margins. It has a base course and a partial corbel course, along with stop-chamfered arrises.

On the east elevation, there are steps leading up to a part-glazed timber door with a two-part fanlight located in the central bay. To the left, there is a window with a pedimented timber-clad dormer above it. To the right, a taller advanced gabled bay includes a stepped corbel course with a blind panel in the gablehead and a window in the rounded angle that returns to the left.

The north elevation features a broad gabled bay in the center with an attic window to the right and a blind trefoil in the gablehead. There is a recessed bay to the right and a single window in the rounded angle of the re-entrant to the left.

On the south elevation, which faces Connaught Terrace, there is a gabled bay to the right with two windows and a relief-carved shield in the gablehead, while the left side has a blank bay.

The west elevation displays twin gables with a variety of architectural elements. The windows are timber sash and case with 4-pane and plate glass glazing patterns. The roof is covered with grey slates and includes modern rooflights. Coped ashlar stacks with some chimney cans are present, and the eaves overhang with exposed rafters and decorative braces adds to the character of the building.

The property is complemented by dome-finialled circular squared rubble gatepiers and semicircular rubble quadrant boundary walls.
