Kingsmuir Gate-Lodge, Bonnington Road, Peebles

Kingsmuir Gate-Lodge, located on Bonnington Road in Peebles, is a single-storey, three-bay lodge built in the later 19th century. It has an L-shaped plan, although the re-entrant angle has been filled in. The building is constructed of whinstone with cream sandstone ashlar dressings and features blind slits in the gableheads.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, is symmetrical. It has a slightly advanced and gabled central bay that includes a boarded and glazed door with a letterbox fanlight. There are bipartite windows in the flanking bays. The west elevation merges with the boundary wall and features a gable on the left with a window at the center, and three windows to the right that have cement margins leading to a flat-roofed extension. The east elevation has a slightly advanced gable on the right with a window at the center, and a single bay to the left.

The lodge has timber sash and case multi-pane windows, a roof covered with grey slates, corniced ashlar stacks, and ashlar coped skews with bracketed kneeler skewputts. The boundary walls consist of low sandstone quadrant walls with semi-circular coping, along with rubble boundary walls. The interior was not seen in 1994.
