Description

Early 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay, rectangular- plan lodge with flat-roofed addition at rear. Squared whinstone with ashlar margins, raised quoins.

E ELEVATION: advanced entrance bay at centre with bracketted ashlar slab-canopy. Flanking windows.

N ELEVATION: 3 bays, small window at centre with larger flanking windows.

12-pane lying-pane glazing in sash and case windows. Piended grey slate roof with lead flashings. Rectangular brick wallhead stack at rear, apex flue.

BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIERS: low whinstone quadrant walls with ashlar slab coping and plain railings flanking paired panelled ashlar piers with decorative wrought-iron pedestrian (2) and 2-leaf carriage gates. Walls terminated by droved sandstone piers; simple railings flanking.
