North Lodge, Gogar Mount House, Glasgow Road, Edinburgh

North Lodge at Gogar Mount House, located on Glasgow Road in Edinburgh, dates back to the early 19th century. This single-storey, three-bay lodge has a rectangular plan and features a flat-roofed addition at the rear. It is constructed from squared whinstone with ashlar margins and raised quoins.

The east elevation has an advanced entrance bay at the center, which is topped with a bracketed ashlar slab canopy, flanked by windows. The north elevation consists of three bays, with a small window in the center and larger windows on either side.

The lodge has 12-pane lying-pane glazing in sash and case windows, and the roof is piended with grey slate and lead flashings. There is a rectangular brick wallhead stack at the rear with an apex flue.

The boundary wall and gatepiers include low whinstone quadrant walls with ashlar slab coping and plain railings, flanking paired panelled ashlar piers. These piers feature decorative wrought-iron pedestrian gates and two-leaf carriage gates. The walls are terminated by droved sandstone piers with simple railings on either side.
