Description

The walled garden with wellhead at Gogar Mount House, located on Glasgow Road in Edinburgh, dates back to the early 19th century. It is situated immediately to the east of the stables and has a long rectangular shape with a curved southern end, measuring approximately 50 by 70 meters. The walls are made of squared whinstone, topped with ashlar slab coping. There is a door in the west wall leading from the stable court and another door in the east wall.

The wellhead features an ashlar Corinthian capital on a circular base, with a rope moulding around the lip of the wellhead. It is adorned with a decorative wrought-iron overthrow.
