Description
Mochrum Park Lodge and Gatepiers is a single-storey lodge built in the later 19th century. It features a gabled design with three bays, constructed from whinstone rubble that is squared and snecked, accented with red sandstone and bull-faced ashlar dressings. The principal windows have stop-chamfered reveals, and there are blank ashlar panels in the gable head, along with stone mullions.
On the southeast elevation, there is a timber gabled porch supported by slender columns, located at the re-entrant angle formed with the advanced gabled bay to the left. The east and west gables each have a tripartite window. A modern extension has been added at the rear. The windows are plate glass sash and case, and the roof is covered with grey slates. At the center of the building, there is a coped ashlar stack.
The gates, gatepiers, and quadrants include spearhead iron gates for pedestrian access flanking the driveway. The gatepiers are rusticated and corniced in ashlar, while the low quadrant parapets are made of whinstone with semi-circular ashlar coping.
