Description
Johnstone's Bridge is a mid-19th century stone bridge carrying the B733 road over the Tarff Water. The bridge is constructed of dressed granite for the voussoirs, springers, and soffits, with squared rubble forming the spandrels and abutments. A rubble parapet is topped with squared granite coping. The bridge has an approximate span of 50 feet and a slightly humpbacked carriageway, which is approximately 15 feet wide. The bridge was strengthened and re-painted in 1993.
