Description
39 Main Street in Kirkcowan is a house dating from the early 19th century, which was raised to two storeys around 1910. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The front is harled with a base course, quoin strips, and raised margins, while the sides and rear are made of painted rubble. There is a deep-set door at the center, with a window above it and additional windows in the flanking bays on each floor. The right end gable is blank. The windows are plate glass sash and case style. The house features end stacks with thackstanes, grey slates on the front roof, and tiles on the rear. At the back, there is a lean-to with a glazed porch and casement windows.
