Description
This is an early 19th-century house situated at 18 Main Street, Kirkcowan, and forming a terraced pair with the Blue House, which is listed separately. The White House is part of an intact traditional terrace located in the centre of the village.
The house is two storeys high with three bays. It is constructed of painted rubble with raised quoins and cills. The central doorway is flanked by a blind window above and windows to each floor in the flanking bays. The ground floor windows are sash and case with a four-pane glazing pattern, while the first-floor windows are sash windows with plate glass. The building has end chimney stacks.
