Description
This is an earlier 19th century shop, located at 13 Main Street in Kirkcowan village. It is a two-storey, three-bay house constructed with rubble walling, featuring squared granite quoins and margins. The doorpiece is plastered, incorporating a recessed door with a fanlight above. The windows are single-light, sash and case style with plate glass glazing. The building has end skewes (triangular projections of the roof), tall coped end stacks (chimneys) made of sandstone, and a sandstone ridge. Two small, modern flat-roofed dormers have been added, along with a modern tiled roof.
