Description
Ashley Bank is an early 19th century single-storey, three-bay cottage located on Main Street in Kirkcowan. The building features painted rubble with painted margins. It has a central doorway flanked by single light windows, which are sash and case style with 12-pane glazing. The ends of the cottage have skews with large roll skewputts, and there are end coped stacks. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with good graded slate, topped with a sandstone ridge. At the rear, there is a long single-storey wing made of painted rubble, which was formerly a cottage, also featuring good graded slate roofs.
