Description

Early 19th century 2-storey 3-bay house, extended on flanks by addition of 3-stage tower and 2-storey piend-roofed wing, apparently in later 19th century. Whinstone with granite dressings. South Elevation: original house at centre, columned doorpiece in centre bay, regular fenestration flanking and above; crenellated parapet over centre bay and outer bays gabled with attic windows and crowsteps (probably later 19th century additions). Tower flanking to right, advanced; jetted parapet, irregular fenestration. 2 advanced bays of taller piend-roofed wing to left with windows to each floor. Various service projections at rear. Interior not seen (1990). Plate glass glazing pattern (ground floor) and 12-pane (1st floor), 8-pane to 2nd floor of tower, in sash and case windows. Coped granite stacks with square cans. Slate roof.
