Mochrum Park

Mochrum Park is a mid 18th century rectangular-plan house that has large additions from the later 19th century, some of which have been partially demolished and are of little merit. The original 18th century house is two stories tall with an attic and features a regular five-bay front. It has a rendered exterior over rubble walling, with rusticated granite quoins and raised margins. There is a modern porch that is part timber and part glazed at the ground level, and all the windows are single light, sash and case with 2-pane plate glass glazing. The house has a moulded eaves cornice and a central nepus gable with two attic windows and a square-headed niche above. The end skews are present, along with tall corniced end stacks and a stack on the nepus gable. The front roof is covered with concrete tiles, while the rear is slate. The rear elevation is painted rubble with many blocked and altered openings.

The later 19th century addition is a large, two-story, rambling gothic asymmetrical house that used to encase the 18th century part. It is now partly demolished, with the main fragment located to the northwest of the earlier house. This section is also two stories tall, constructed of rubble with red sandstone margins and quoins.
