Description

Alexander Dickson, 1864. Symmetrical 2-storey 3-bay cottage with crowstepped gables. Squared and snecked whinstone, rubble to sides and rear with stugged sandstone dressings. Bipartite windows at ground; 1st floor windows breaking eaves with gabled dormerheads; chamfered reveals.

E elevation: slightly advanced centre bay; panelled door with rectangular plate glass fanlight and bracketed stone canopy.

N and S elevations: gable ends with window to left at 1st floor.

W elevation: modern extension at ground flanked by windows; off-centre window at 1st floor, flanked by rooflights.

Timber sash and case multi-pane windows. Grey slates; corbelled skewputts; stone apex stacks, 2 octagonal cans survive.

Interior: not seen 1994.
