Kingsville, 2 Bonnington Road, Peebles

Kingsville is a cottage located at 2 Bonnington Road in Peebles, built in 1864 by Alexander Dickson. This symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay cottage features crowstepped gables and is constructed from squared and snecked whinstone, with rubble on the sides and rear, and stugged sandstone dressings. The ground floor has bipartite windows, while the first-floor windows break the eaves and are topped with gabled dormerheads, all having chamfered reveals.

On the east elevation, the centre bay is slightly advanced and includes a panelled door with a rectangular plate glass fanlight and a bracketed stone canopy. The north and south elevations have gable ends with a window to the left on the first floor. The west elevation has a modern extension at ground level, flanked by windows, and features an off-centre window on the first floor, which is flanked by rooflights.

The cottage has timber sash and case multi-pane windows, a roof covered with grey slates, corbelled skewputts, and stone apex stacks, with two octagonal cans still remaining. The interior was not seen in 1994.
