Description
Windyhill is a cottage located at 85 High Street in Ardersier, built around 1875. It is a single-storey and attic structure with a three-bay and roughly square plan, constructed from clay and boulder walling, all rendered with contrasting painted margins. The central door on the north elevation is sheltered by a later 19th century gabled porch featuring decorative bargeboards, and it is flanked by enlarged windows.
The cottage has 4-pane timber sash and case glazing throughout. It features a single central coped ridge stack on a steeply pitched thatched roof, which includes a pair of small attic lights on the north side.
At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to extension that spans the full length of the house, complete with a dormer window that breaks the eaves. The interior was not seen as of 2014.
