Description

Gilston House is a cottage built around 1875, featuring a single storey and an attic in an L-plan layout. The exterior is constructed from random whin rubble with chamfered ashlar margins. The south elevation has three bays, with a central door flanked by 4-pane sash windows. Above, there are three segmental-headed 4-pane windows, with ground and first-floor openings linked vertically by dressings. The cottage has barge-boarded and finialed dormer heads and gables, an off-centre stack, and a slate roof with projecting eaves. The west elevation includes a door and three enlarged windows, along with a modern flat-roofed extension.
