Description
North Lodge dates from the earlier 19th century and is constructed of whin rubble with broached ashlar dressings and raised margins. The lodge comprises a single-storey main section with a central, gabled porch topped by a pediment and supported by four timber columns. Within the porch is a central door, with a window to the right and two to the left; the outer windows have moulded wooden mullion and transom crosses. The roof is slated and jerkin-headed, with ashlar stacks arranged as octagonal shafts. A one-window gable is present, along with two one-window, jerkin-headed rear wings linked at the rear by a central door. Later alterations include a bipartite window to the right and an original window with a slanted slab hood to the left. The property is approached by two chamfered ashlar gatepiers with projecting caps.
