Description
Carmelhill Cottage is a single-storey cottage built around 1830, featuring a three-bay layout with a lower, single-storey, two-bay wing to the north. The structure is constructed of rubble with ashlar margins and has a rectangular plan.
On the east elevation, there is a door at the center with a two-pane letterbox fanlight above it, flanked by a window on either side. The lower storey has two smaller windows. The south elevation is blank. The west and north elevations have modern additions.
The cottage features plate glass sash and case windows and is topped with a red pantiled roof. It has tall, square, rounded coped gablehead stacks, with the central stack retaining its original terracotta can. Ashlar coping is present on the skews.
