Devorgilla Cottage, 21 Main Street, New Abbey

Devorgilla Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay cottage with an attic, built between 1820 and 1830. It features a centrally located door on both the east and west elevations. To the west, there is a parallel outbuilding dated 1847. Both structures are constructed from rubble and are whitewashed, with contrasting painted margins, mostly in ashlar.

The east elevation, which faces the garden, has a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it. There are sash windows with 12-pane glazing and two piended canted dormers. The west-facing openings have rubble margins, except for one window that has been altered. The cottage has straight skews, corniced end stacks, and is roofed with graded slates. A lean-to and a modern conservatory are attached to the south gable.

The outbuilding is two storeys high and has four bays, with doors and small-paned windows. It was originally a carriage house and now serves as a garage. The north gable features two small bull's eye windows and a datestone above. There is a single end stack, and the roof is also covered with slate.
