Description
Oak View is a single-storey cottage built in 1823, featuring a rectangular plan with three bays and a later addition at the rear. The front is made of tooled squared sandstone with polished dressings and has long and short rusticated quoins.
The principal elevation is symmetrical, featuring a central glazed timber door with a letterbox fanlight. There are pointed arched windows on either side of the door, and lean-to additions on the outer left and right, which include a boarded timber door and glazed timber doors, respectively.
The northeast, northwest, and southwest elevations were not seen in 1997.
The cottage has timber sash and case windows and a graded grey slate roof, which includes regularly placed slate ventilators and a lead ridge. The roof features stone skews, cast iron rainwater goods, and coped gablehead stacks with circular cans.
The interior was not seen in 1997.
