Description
Overton Farm Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay cottage dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It has a symmetrical rectangular plan and is constructed of cream sandstone rubble, featuring stugged ashlar surrounds around the openings and an eaves course.
On the northwest (principal) elevation, there is a replacement timber door in the central bay, with a window in each of the flanking bays. The southeast (rear) elevation includes a piended square-plan addition in the central bay, which has a window set to the right and a replacement timber door in the right return, along with another window in the bay to the right.
The side elevations have blank gabled walls that feature four cast-iron tie terminals and gablehead stacks. The cottage has five-pane timber sash and case windows and a grey slate roof, which was probably originally thatched. The addition has a slate roof, with ashlar skews and ashlar coped stacks at the gable ends. There is a brick wallhead stack on the piended addition, and the property has cast-iron rainwater goods, although some have been replaced with uPVC.
