Description
Holly Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan cottage built in the earlier to mid 19th century, with a modern rear wing added later. The structure is made of rubble with ashlar margins and dressings, featuring chamfered bargeboards and advanced eaves. The windows are bipartite with gothick-arched glazing.
On the main south elevation, there is a centrally located door with a bargeboard supported by bracketted timber, and it features a two-leaf boarded door. Flanking the door are windows, with the roof breaking the eaves above them.
The cottage has timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashings, and low sandstone stacks that have moulded projecting cornices.
