Description
Luss General Store is a single-storey building dating from the earlier to mid 19th century, originally designed as a near-symmetrical cottage and now functioning as a shop. It has a rectangular plan with curved ends, constructed from stugged pink sandstone ashlar with painted ashlar margins. The building features a base course and an eaves band, along with projecting bracketed eaves.
On the north elevation, the main entrance is located to the outer left, with a post box positioned to the right of the door. Above, there is a bipartite dormer. To the right, three bays are grouped together, featuring a central door flanked by broad windows, all beneath a painted eaves band. The west side elevation includes a tripartite canted window at the corner, a blind window at the centre, and a window to the outer right with 6-pane timber glazing. The store also has large plate glass windows. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, complemented by lead flashings and cast iron rooflights, and features broad corniced stacks with a single circular chimney can.
