Description

Hailes Smithy is a single-storey, three-bay cottage built in the earlier to mid-19th century, featuring a two-bay rear wing that forms an L-plan. The structure is constructed from squared rubble with droved ashlar dressings. The front has a central door with a consoled doorpiece, flanked by windows. The rear wing has two windows. The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, has straight skews, and is topped with ashlar coped stacks.
