Description

Hailes Cottage is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage featuring three bays and flanking recessed wings with piend roofs. The building is constructed of squared and coursed red sandstone with ashlar dressings and has an eaves course. The sides and rear are made of random whinstone rubble.

The entrance is centrally located and accessed through a pillared, gabled porch with chamfered arrises. There are windows on either side of the entrance, with a single window in each wing. The windows are sash and case style, featuring an 8-pane glazing pattern.

The roof is covered with grey slates, has straight skews, and an ashlar coped stack, with one stack renewed in brick.
