Sunnyside is a mid-19th century cottage that has been refurbished. It is a single-storey, three-bay building with a rectangular plan. The structure is made of whinstone and sandstone rubble, featuring pink sandstone margins and dressings, and has projecting bracketed eaves.

On the northeast (main) elevation, there is a central two-leaf boarded door with windows on either side. The cottage has timber diamond-pane casement windows and a graded grey slate piended roof, which includes lead flashings, octagonal ridge stacks, and octagonal cans.
