Description
Traprain is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse that incorporates an earlier house at the rear, forming a double-pile structure with additional features. The building is constructed of squared and coursed red sandstone with raised ashlar margins and an eaves course, while the sides and rear are harled.
At the center, there are French windows set in a canted porch addition that features a cornice and blocking course. Ground floor windows flank the porch, and there are three windows on the first floor. The windows are 12-pane sash and case style with lying-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates and has straight rendered skews and stacks.
Surrounding the property are red sandstone garden walls and gatepiers, which are ashlar coped and feature wrought-iron gates.
