Description

Peddie and Kinnear, Edinburgh dated 1856. Row of

10 single storey cottages; raised block at centre with

attic. Squared red sandstone with grey sandstone ashlar

dressings.

S ELEVATION: 24 bay with larger single bay projecting

gabled outer wings. 8 doorways with heavy consoled slab

hoods, each flanked by windows. Window to each wing and

single window to left in re-entrant angle, right wing

with later flat-roofed addition to re-entrant angle. 2

cottages at centre with 4 windows to attic in gabled

slated dormers.

N ELEVATION: 8 doorways with windows flanking, some

openings blocked or enlarged.

Sash and case windows, 8-pane glazing pattern. Grey

slates, ashlar coped skews with bracketted gablet

skewputts and gablet finials to gableheads. Ashlar coped

gable end and ridge stacks, some additional wallhead

brick stacks at rear.
