Description
The Cattle Market on Haddington Road in East Linton is an octagonal timber auction mart sale hall built around 1900. It features a polygonal roof with an octagonal-capped centre ventilator. The building is constructed of boarded timber and has a broad two-leaf timber door on the west side. There is a small flat-roofed rectangular extension on the east side, and each of the remaining faces has two windows, although some of these are blocked. Each segment of the roof includes a bipartite below a single pane rooflight. The fixed windows retain some of their original four-pane glazing pattern and are covered with purple slates. The structure is topped with a finialled, timber-louvred ventilator.
