Description

3 Bridge Street is a late 18th century, two-storey terrace consisting of three irregular, three-bay houses built on sloping ground, with No 5 serving as The Lynton Arms hotel. The structure is constructed from random whinstone rubble with ashlar dressings.

At the ground floor, there are five doorways. The doorway for No 3 is off-centre, with a window to the left and a shopfront with a door to the right. The doorway for No 5 is located at the outer left, featuring a later corbelled gabled doorpiece and a strip fanlight, along with two windows to the right; an earlier door to the right of centre has been blocked. No 7 has two doors at the centre with windows flanking them.

Each bay at the first floor has a window, and No 3 includes a single piend-roofed dormer in the attic. The windows are sash and case style, predominantly with a 12-pane glazing pattern. Notably, No 3 has a painted shutter on the outer right ground floor window. The roofs are covered with grey slates and feature ashlar coped mutual stacks. Additionally, the roof of No 5 has been raised with a piend-roofed extension to the rear.
