9, 11 Bridge Street, East Linton

9 and 11 Bridge Street is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house with an attic, situated on sloping ground. The building is constructed of squared and coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings and a rubble basecourse, while the sides and rear are made of rubble. The entrance is located to the left of the center and features a fanlight along with a later pilastered doorpiece topped with a cornice. There is one window to the left and two windows to the right of the door, with a second doorway on the outer right. On the first floor, three windows are grouped towards the center, with a blind window in the middle. The attic has two piend-roofed canted dormers in the outer bays, and there is a two-storey, steeply platformed roof projection with a single dormer at the rear. The northern gable wall is blank. The windows are sash and case with a four-pane glazing pattern. The steeply pitched roof is covered with grey slates, has straight skews, and features an ashlar coped stack, with two stacks renewed in brick.
