Description

Mid 19th century, single storey attic and basement 3-bay house sited on ground falling to W; attic and new front added circa 1890. Sandstone, rubble with ashlar margins and cills; front elevation faced with square and snecked bull-faced cream sandstone, stop-chamfered arrises.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: single storey, attic and basement; panelled door and fanlight at centre, with bracketed overdoor; flanking single windows. Above, windows to each bay breaking eaves with gabled dormerheads. Basement with small square windows to outer bays, with projecting shed at centre forming bridge from street to front door.

N AND S ELEVATIONS: blank gables with small single windows to W at top floor. Gablehead stacks.

W ELEVATION: full-height basement and raised eaves (accommodating attic); garden door and letterbox fanlight at centre; regular fenestration. Small skylight at centre of roof.

4-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slates; ashlar skews, curved ashlar skewputts; brick stacks.

WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rendered wall at street level to front with saddle-back coping and plain iron railings. Stone gatepiers with flat-topped pyramidal caps.
