Description

5 Fisher Street and Wellington House is an early 19th century, two-storey house with an attic and basement, featuring three bays and an extension to the east. The west elevation is constructed of coursed sandstone ashlar, while the other elevations are made of painted rubble. The building includes a base course, a band course, a cornice, and a blocking course.

The west entrance elevation has steps leading up to a pilastered and corniced doorpiece located in the outer right bay. This doorpiece contains a six-panel timber door with a letterbox fanlight above it, and there is a single window aligned above the door. The bays to the left display regular fenestration, while the upper storey features a blind central window. The single-storey extension to the outer left also has a blind window.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate and features stone skews, gablehead corniced stacks, and moulded octagonal cans, although the stacks from a former bank have been removed.

The boundary walls consist of a coped, painted rubble wall that encloses the site. There are square-plan corniced gatepiers with pyramidal caps at the vehicular entrance, along with boarded timber gates and an iron gate for pedestrian access.
