Description

Early 19th century. 2-storey with attic and basement, 3 bay house with extension to E. Coursed sandstone ashlar to W elevation; painted rubble to other elevations. Base course; band course; cornice; blocking course.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to pilastered and corniced doorpiece in bay to outer right; 6-panel timber door; letterbox fanlight; single window aligned above. Regular fenestration to bays to left; blind central window to upper storey. Blind window to single storey extension to outer left.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stone skews; gablehead corniced stacks; moulded octagonal cans. (Stacks removed from former bank).

INTERIORS: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS, GATEPIERS AND GATES: coped, painted rubble boundary wall enclosing site; square-plan corniced gatepiers with pyramidal caps to vehicular entrance; boarded timber gates; iron gate to pedestrian entrance.
